My son was hospitalized for an allergic reaction to bactrim. He had a terrible sinus infection and had to take it for a month. His allergist confirmed that he had an allergic reaction, he was covered, head to toe within two weeks, his neck swelled on one side, but he stopped taking it and within 3 days, it was all gone.

oh my god i can totally relate. i took bactrim to help prevent infection in my foot that i had stiches in . With in 30 minutes my bottom became excoriated with burning and itching and later developed withsores all over my vagina. i always got tested for std's but everything came back negative! i threw away the drug and took 50 mg of Benadryl. It only help a little. It was more worse at night. So bad i had to sleep with a icepack between my legs. The following morning my lips had swollen and so had my tongue. my dr. gave me medrol dose pack to help. with in 2 hours i could feel it letting up....thank god. the inside of lips, mouth and tongue also feels excoriated and everything i eat or drink burns the hell out of. so i can relate to what everyone is saying
