I have had the Mirena for almost two years now. I still have very tender breasts before my period, much earlier than before (without the iud). I have told friends that it's like my body senses the implant and thinks it's pregnant every month. Sometimes I get the pain and swelling and then no period. You are right though, getting it put in was horrible, can't imagine getting it removed. All in all though, it is better than other methods, for me at least. It is the safest for smokers and I haven't been able to quit yet...
I had it all...bloating, acne, weight gain, fatigue, moodiness, and sore breasts.......it's been 8 days since my removal and I feel soooo soo good! Getting it removed was a cinch! Aside from the strings being cut so short and my doctor (he's my original ob/gyn who didn't put it in) had to fish for it a little, which still didn't hurt anyway...literally snap your fingers and it was out with NO pain! I am no longer bloated, acne is clearing up, I'm not moody and my breasts have gone to their normal size and don't hurt at all!!! I am so happy it is out and I wouldn't recommend anyone getting it.
Same story here, I took a pregnancy test this afternoon convinced that had to be the reason (negative). I've had Mirena for almost 5 months, bloated and sore breasts, just plain ole discomfort the whole way.
Hi I had Mirena inserted May 2006 the insertion was painful however my irregular periods slowed down tremendously. Lately however my breast has increased in size and they are very sore. I often have to take my bra off as soon as I get home they feel so heavy. My husband asked me if was pregnant. know how u feel.
