Hi - welcome to the hundreds of us who have taken our children off of it and the many adults who read our posts and have also gone off of it. After taking my son off of it - he developed asthma. Within days of getting off of it he started to cough and by the third day ended up in the ER. He is now on Flovent 2x daily and Albuterol when needed. They upped his dose last week to 2 puffs 2x daily and he had a bad head ache and stomach ache. We put him back on 1 puff 2x daily and is much better. The last couple of days he hasn't coughed at all. They said it takes a good 2 - 3 weeks to be effective and that is pretty much what it took. We are hoping to get him off the regime by June. Just a thought. Hope this helps!
Thanks for your response. It has only been 24 hours w/out Singulair. I took a Benadryl to go to sleep last night. BUT, havent used or needed my inhaler yet. Knock on wood. I will call my lung specialist if I have a flare up as needed. BUT, will NEVER take Singulair again!
Thank you for posting. I have recently begun to take this medicine and I am experiencing joint pain and aches. I am also gaining weight to no fault of my own. Maybe this medication is what is causing the discomfort. Thanks.
