Hi everyone.
I also have had a long list of side effects that I am putting together and realizing that it could be Yaz causing them. Everything was fine for about six months on yaz. Then I started having panic attacks, I was put on antidepressants but ended up feeling worse. I've ben in the ER with irregular heart beat and heart palpitations. I've seen a cardiologist that told me I have all the symptoms of mitral valve prolapse and was put on atenolol for my high heart rate and dizziness. However I am not convinced by this doc, I don't think he ever saw the prolapse on my echocardiogram. I also have gained 20 lbs in about 6 months, no sex drive, fatigued, and have awful migraines. I'm stopping Yaz at the end of this pill pack and hope to see some relief soon. Any idea how long it takes to get out of your system?
Oh yeah, most doctors don't have a clue. I too went to the ER---my standing heart rate was 142!! I've been off of Yasmin for almost two months ago. There are peaks and valleys depending on the day, but overall it's getting better. I still have problems being alone in my apartment some days because I just have this fear of having another panic attack. This is defintely not me and I can't wait to be back to my old self.
This pill definitely messes up the balance of your system--and severely suppresses testosterone levels--and sadly, it's going to take many months to get everything back to normal.
