My daughter is experiencing some of the same side affects you are. We are doctoring with her right now. The doctor did an echo and found that her rythm of her heart is off. They did an EKG, thyroid, blood etc., which all came out OK, the heart monitor halter has not been read yet. My daughter had another episode this morning. I had to rush home. Talk to the doctor and came to the conclusion that it has to be the YAZ! He is prescribing something else. She only has a few more days for this cycle so she is finishing it. She was taking it for her bad cramping and migraines. It was helping with that, but now she is having anxiety attacts, which the doctor feels is causing her heart to beat rapidly etc. He prescribed a Bata Blocker to help calm her. He said the YAZ must be messing with her hormones. Kind of like when one goes into menapause! It has been really scaring for her and us.

Omg. I just read your post and I cant connect to you more. I have had dizzy spells non stop since ive been on Yaz for the past 3 weeks. At night, I get a tighness in my chest that makes me feel like I cant breathe and I started freaking out because my heart is racing and i feel numbness in my hands and legs its SO scary. I know what you feel like. :( Im going to stop taking the YAZ completly. I dont know if thats it or not but thats all i can do at this point. Doctors cant find anything. its so annoying!!

I felt the severe panic and numbness while on yaz as well... scary.

I have experienced the same side effects. I felt severe dizziness, numbness in my face, arms, and legs. Additionally, my blood pressure was elevated. I also experienced chest pains. The doctor put me on blood pressure medication. The doctor did an EKG, thyroid test, blood test, and echochardiogram. I was told that I have an irregular heartbeat. I have never felt any of these effects before, so I'm sure that it's the Yaz that caused all of this. I stopped taking the Yaz, but the side effects have not gone away.

I have starting taking good ol' Yaz for a couple wks now and to know my surprise the same exact thing has happened to me. My left side of my check hurts and i feel shortness of breath. I feel like I can't breath and then the confusion kicks into high gear. My Lungs and heart do not feel right at all. I also have these tingly/numb pins/needles sensations throughout my limbs and across my face and head. I was on birth control last year but it was lo dose ortho tri cyclen and after a year on that i had the same symptoms but also with terrible migraines. So after a nuclear lung scan,cat scans,ekg,and blood tests they concluded that my d dimer (however you spell that) level was elevated pretty high which is an indicator of a blood clot. So now i am in the same predictament again and wondering could this be another attack from bc side effects. I think i am going to stop taking it.

TODAY SEPTMEMBER 15, 2009 I FEEL SO GREAT!!!!! I STOPPED TAKING THE YAZ PILLS SINCE MAY 2008, I DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF BIRTH CONTROL (WELL CONDOMS ONLY), MY DOCTOR AFTER ME BEING THERE ALMOST WEEKLY WITH SHORTNESS OF BREATH CONCLUDED THAT I HAD ACID REFLUX, I WAS NOT AWARE THAT ACID REFLUX WOULD GIVE ME SHORTNESS OF BREATH, ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE I STILL EXPERIENCE SHORTNESS OF BREATH AND CHEST TIGHTNESS BUT AS SOON AS I TAKE A PILL (ZANTAC) OR MYLANTA EVERYTHING GOES AWAY, MY DOCTOR GAVE ME A TREATMENT FOR ACID REFLUX, I NEVER TOOK IT, INSTEAD I AM TAKING HERBS AND ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE MAYBE 2 TIMES A MONTH I TAKE ZANTAC OR MYLANTA, ACID REFLUX DOES MAKE YOUR CHEST FEEL TIGHT AND IT ALSO GIVES SHORTNESS OF BREATH, I COULD FEEL THE AIR ON MY ESOPHAGUS GOING UP AND DOWN AND THEN I FEEL THE TIGHTNESS OF BREATH. BUT WITH NATURAL HERBS YOU DO NOT NEED ZANTAC OR PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE(WELL MAYBE ONE OR TWO TIMES A MONTH LIKE ME) BUT PLEASE ALWAYS ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR. I have been on Yaz now for a month and a half. The tighness in my chest, shortness of breath is definetely there! This causes me to have panic attacks, which in turn causes my heart to race, feeling like I'm going to pass out. I'm going to quit taking it, but am hopeful that these side effects will go away. It seems like alot of people that replied to this post still are experiencing the side effects. Maybe thats why the lawsuit is so big?? This pill needs to be taken off the market. This can really hurt young girls who shouldn't have health problems so soon.
