My doctor put me on prednisone for pain and inflammation and I have never felt better in my life. It's a miracle for me right now and I'll take my chances with the side effects for being pain free. I'm a happy lady for now.

A doctor prescribed prednisone for my asthma for one week and it was one of the best weeks I have ever had. Not only did my breathing get better but skin cleared up as well. I felt wonderful and had no side effects.

Don't play with prednisone. In spite of the fact that its action can produce dramatic initial improvements in your symptoms, these symptomatic improvements come with a heavy price. Even after a course of just a few days of corticosteroid medication, it takes several days to several weeks for the adrenal function to return to normal. People (usually) feel great initially, and experience euphoria. Corticosteroids mask the symptoms of the disease, and such a therapy can become more hazardous than the original disease. In addition, they derpess immune function, so the person taking them is at greater risk from stress and infection. The list of their side effects is sobering for those who care to look them up in the Physicians Desk Reference (PDR). They range from rash to sudden death.
