I began taking Micardis two weeks ago to control my high-normal BP. Started out with 40mg doses taken each morning. The first side effects I noticed were a slight dizziness and a feeling of disconnectedness plus an upset stomach. An irritating background headache then developed along with some shoulder and back pain. By day three, I had numbness in my left pinky finger and palm and slight numbness extending up to my elbow. All of these side effects have become very annoying and have made it hard to concentrate at work and have really decreased my motivation. Two days ago while skiing, I missed my dose in the morning and didn't realize until later how normal I felt throughout the day. Upon returning from skiing, I took a pill and an hour later I felt poorly again. I haven't really noticed any benefit from the drug with my BP either as I do monitor it almost daily. I'm going to stop taking the drug tomorrow and see how I feel the rest of the week. It's just not worth for what little, if any, benefit I'm receiving.

I have been taking Micardis for about 3 days and I have noticed my arms ache a little but what drives me CRAZY is how they feel numb like the circulation is cut off and I have no energy plus my legs sometimes feel the way my arms do!!! Do you have any of these symptoms?

I believe Micardis is dangerous . I have stopped and restarted taking this med. for over a year, mostly as a test to confirm the effects. Here is my experience:(I am taking no other meds )

Effective bp reduction without "bottoming out" . Bizarre numbness and pin-prick pain (skin) ,STRANGE headache, combined with disorientation and mild panic, feeling very disconnected, paranoia, stuttering, severe night sweats, blurred vision, lucid dreaming. Now bp is up-stopping forever.Good luck to all...............

Three years ago I was placed on micardis. I was on the meds three days when I started having extreme pain in my limbs, itching, numbness and swelling. I ended up in the hospital on an unrelated matter. However, they continued my micardis after I told them of the side effects. The pain grew worse to the point I no longer could get out of bed on my own from the swelling that was occuring in all my joints. I stopped taking the micardis, the pain decreased but has never gone away. I still suffer from swelling, pain, numbness ect...my qualitiy of life has gone down drastically because of this medication, and the doctors who would not listen.
