After reading everyones complaints about the Mirena, I am convinced that everything I have been feeling is because of the IUD. I have a new name for it, I like to call it the b---h maker. I had mine taken out on 5-15. Started bleeding 1 hour after removal. The bleeding has gotten heavier as the week progressed, and am passing large clumps. Was all this blood just sitting in there this whole time, could that explain the 15 lbs I put on? Maybe I need a DnC?

It's normal to have the large clotting several days into this first heavy period. Mine was removed on the 6th, and I started my period on the 8th. The fourth day of the period was the worst...with the large clots. No DNC should be needed, it should taper off. Your body is truly just shedding. However, my period has also started again as of yesterday (2 weeks after the first period) and is rather heavy again today. Be sure to take a multivitamin with extra iron to prevent a possible anemia. If your clotting doesn't taper off in another day or so, you should call the doctor. Congrats on having it removed and good luck to you!
