we saw small improvements every week and noticed bigger changes every two weeks. After one month, even my son's tics were gone. I think this medication increases the intensity of all the symptoms. Eight weeks later, my kid is very happy and back to normal.
Be patient, the OCD does get better. My daughter no longer washes her hands until they bleed. It becomes a habit with them that takes time and patience to help them change. I am glad you stopped this horrible drug. You will see changes but they come slowly.
We, too, have seen a huge improvement by about week 8. Some of the OCD stuff is hanging on a bit but has become a learned behavior that we need to "unlearn." I am so happy for you that you found this site and were able to stop giving your child this poison! The really dark thoughts went away by about week 3, but some of the behavior issues just gradually diminished. Good luck!!
My son is off apprx 7 weeks now, Thing got alot better when I stopped the nasonex as well.Things have improved greatly but still also battling the learned behaviors. His eye twitch is not as bad, he is not "picking at his fingers" anymore. Right now he is on antibiotics and is feeling the best he has in the last 6 weeks. He had picked up strep throat and didnt get over it 100%. He is waking up and telling me about the "good" dreams he is having. I also had to stop ALL my son's allergy meds including Flonase, He is alot better but is still having some issues He does have ADHD for sure so that's prob a lil part of it
I too have a 3 yr old with allergy problems. The Dr. prescribed singulair. I research a little on the net (didn't see this site or anything about nightmares), called my Dr. with concerns about the drug. He said it was safe and that he was giving it to his own child at that time. I reluctantly continued giving it to her for about a month. She got better so I stopped the meds. She was having problems sleeping and was whiney throughout the day during that month. She started having allergy problems again yesterday. I started her back on singulair. Last night was horrible. We stayed up with her most of the night and today she has been crying for no reason and she has only had one dose. After seeing this site I will not be giving her anymore singulair. That stuff is going down the toilet. Oh...and we will be seeing a different Dr. in the future. Thanks to everyone for your postings.
