About 2 years ago, I had a very similar thing happen to me. I had fractured my hip, and the pain meds my doc had given me weren't helping...so he prescribed morephine tabs for me. I also had a slight sinus infection at the time, and he prescribed zithromax for that. I took the zithromax when I got home, as I was told to do. Later, when I was ready for bed, I took one of the morephine tabs. About half an hour later, I wasn't sleepy and still in pain. I thought it was a little strange. About 15 minutes later, I was so ill, I was in the bathroom laying on the floor. I could barely move. I had to call my mother to come get me and take me to the ER. By the time she got there, my husband had come home and found me laying there and had rushed me in. On the way in, I thought for sure I was dying. My stomach swelled way up, and I kept losing consciousness. Turns out the two meds don't mix. When I got to the ER, they gave me something to counteract it. Needless to say, since then, i've been scared out of my wits about meds! When I followed up with the doc who prescribed the meds, he just looked at me blankly, and said "they react when taken too close together." I could have hit him! He didn't tell me that..and there wasn't anything in the papers they gave me either. I had taken the meds about 10 hours apart too. I would have loved to sue him...
