II recently went to the doctor for a bad chest cold that lingered for 2 weeks and upon my visit I discovered that my Bp was 200. This extremely high number alarmed the attending physician and he immediately had me to take a lipsinopril/HCTZ which I was not familiar with. I had to remain in the doctor's office until the pressure dropped. It did drop thank GOD and I was given a prescription for this new drug. I am a small frame female and after three days of taking lipsinopril/HCTZ I developed a variety of the known side effects. After calling my doctor to discuss my concerns, I told him that I need to be back on my previous meds so that I could function normally. I am now on the generic name for Norvasc(amolpidine) 10mg. I have only noticed mild swelling around ankles which really does not look like swelling and I have never had appetite increase although I would like to put on a few pounds. It is apparent that meds affect each individual differently.
This registry is a place to share positive or negative side effects of using Norvasc. If you directly experienced a side effect while using Norvasc, then we encourage you to enter it here. Please note that entries here are the experiences of individual users, and in no way means that you or anyone else will experience the same side effect, since the same medication affects people in different ways. Please always contact your physician.
