Please get it out asap. It's the Mirena allright. It can kill your sex drive completely.
Thats so true!!! My husband started thinking I was going out with someone else. I'm 35 yrs old and I don't care about sex at all. My husband started telling me that I should be the one wanting have sex all the time since I should be in my prime. At first I thought, maybe the kids or stress. I have to make and extra effort to be with him, and I feel so dry that it's a bit uncomfortable at the begining. I will have it remove today, let's see what happens with my sex drive then.
Same thing happened to me. Mind-numbong exhaustion, pain in my extremeties (to the point where my regular MD thought it mught be a DVT but it stil l didn't fit the pattern - I was starting to wonder if I'd developed CFS or fibromyalgia), ACNE like I haven't had for 20 years, weight gain, panic attacks, no sex drive...you name it. I had mine removed 3 days ago, got a period today so I'm hoping that will lessen some of the "rebound" symptoms that have been worse over the past couple of days. My doctor was great about it, said that there is a percentage of the population that will react badly to the hormones and that the idea the Mirena's hormones are not systemic is BS.
Get it removed immediately. It will take a bit for you to get abck to normal, but just part of the detox from the hormones.
This registry is a place to share positive or negative side effects of using Mirena. If you directly experienced a side effect while using Mirena, then we encourage you to enter it here. Please note that entries here are the experiences of individual users, and in no way means that you or anyone else will experience the same side effect, since the same medication affects people in different ways.
