Hello all. I was prescribed this medication in the emergency room last week, but did not take it due to all of the side effects listed. I'm a 39 year-old female that works out 5 days a week. My b/p was 178/123 and up until last week had always been normal. For now I'm taking Hydrochlorithiazide and it has brought it down slightly. I've been searching the internet for natural supplements and came across two that i intend to try: Twin Lab Blood Pressure Control and the other is Holistrol. They both sound pretty promising and the Holistrol study was discussed at a heart conference. Check them out, because they might be an alternative to what you're taking or maybe can be taken in conjunction with a medication from your doctor. Good luck to all of you and God bless.

In my case, my bp went up fairly quickly; I felt sick and went to see the doctor. He diagonsed hbp, prescribed meds and sent me on my way. 3 months of lisinopil usage made me sick for the next 3 years. And the underlying cause of the original doctor's visit wasn't diagnosed for 2 more years - it turned that I had gallstones causing me serious problems, including recurring infections.

So, if your bp goes up suddenly I'd think twice about accepting an ordinary hbp diagnosis.
