Four weeks ago; I had experienced severe throbbing in my lower back around my kidneys. I was almost preped for surgery when I had finally passed a kidney stone! I never had this problem before and since I have been on this BCP I have been experiencing - extreme mood swings/depression, numbness on my left arm, severe headaches, fatigue and the pain on my right side. I have had so many tests done recently because of the pain - no one knew what the problem was caused from. However, on a recent ultrasound I now have a large cyst on my left ovary! Does anyone know if BCP or Loestrin can cause cysts?

Well, I'm not a doctor, but I think my kidney stones may be related to LoestineFE24 too. It's funny, but I have some of the same symptoms you mentioned but I never connected them with my BCP. The fatigue, functioning depression and PMS--I just was dealing with it. The way I connected the kidney stones to the birth control was a few things: I started the bill in 1/08 and I got my first stone in 10/08. I am going through another bout with the stones and I noticed my nausea with amplified when I was taking LoestrinFE24. I actually forgot to take my pill three days in a row (this has never happened in 25 years!) and I noticed in had mild to no nausea. I also had (it's gone now) a cyst on an ovary. Yea, I liked the light periods of the FE24, but the other symptoms are just not worth it. I'm thinking if you stop taking the pill, your cyst will shrink.
