Just be patient. Yesterday I had a very bad day. I was fatigue and thought I was going to passed out. It lasted for 5 hours. I also experienced strong heart palpitations, dizziness, and anxiety. Same pain in left shoulder to elbow, and sometimes wrist. It may be the withdrawal effects (my mirena has been out for a week). Our bodies need to adjust to the hormonal changes. Today I feel much better. Try to do some diaphragmatic breathing when the anxiety or heart palpitations hit. Just take a deep breath until the count of three (try to breath with your tummy) and exhale very slowly (count till 6-7). It will ease the anxiety, restore blood pressure and will lower palpitations. Hope your feel much better. I am also counting the days to start feeling completely "normal".
I am so glad I am not alone! I am 42 years old and have been begging my consultant for a hyserectomy but she refuses to do it. I am a single mum with a disabled child and have no intensions of having any more children. I suffer from very heavy bleeding and fibroids. My consultant said the best thing was for me to have a Mirena coil fitted. She could not do it at first and I ended up having it inserted under general anaesthetic. That was 11 days ago and I have been in pain and discomfort ever since and have been bleeding heavily ever since. I have been to the GPs incase the coil had come out but she said it was still in place. I have now read so many horror stories about side effects that I am really wondering 'what have I done'. I too would take it out myself if I could!
Andrea - I'm not clear here...do you still have the Mirena or has it been removed? I, too, suffered from what I presume were panic attacks while I had the Mirena...NEVER had them before in my life. I thought I was having a stroke the first time it happened. Very very scary. I had the Mirena removed in Feb. No more palpitations but occasional feelings of anxiety, another thing that I'd never experienced before. I would consult with your Dr ASAP and think about having it removed if you still have it. I couldn't live with those sort of side effects....it was too frightening. Good luck to you.
I think you said in a previous post you had it removed. While my panic attacks did stop after removal, for about a week or so I would have get an 'uneasy' feeling once a day that would last for about 10 minutes and then pass. They came for no reason at all and I was fine once they passed. Give your body some time and know you are not alone. I said I've heard about 6 months but it seems that things get better with each cycle and so far I agree.
