I am posting my response to it's own thread. Concerned citizen who worked for Upjohn has intestinal disorders worrying about all of these poor children and "slowly" Merck admits that Singulair got out of control. I honestly believe that Singulair was invented for a very specific reason related to the fact that most people who suffer from asthma have a very similar profile. I believe the Merck originally wanted to identify that profile and solve some bad problems. Then, somebody in the "greed department" ruined everything by trying to market Singulair for everything. I hope we don't see Singulair for ingrown toe nail. I looked at the research from the 80's and 90's. I don't believe that Merck Canada had gone evil and "desired" to invent a way to kill people. It does look like there is a profile regarding asthma and it was really of benefit to find a way to stop the damage that is done by the extreme over-reactive airway. The problem is some kind of corporate/marketing strategy that dictates that every product be sold to the ULTIMATE regardless in order to maximize PROFITS.
