I started to use toprol the generic type 3 weeks ago, I have the worst panic attacks, anxiety and depression ever, I never had depression in my life before, this medication took my pleasure of life away from me. I am getting off this horrible medication, started with 50, now I am on 25 (symptoms better), in two days I will be down to 12.5, then seven and is bye, bye. I read is not good to go cold turkey on this medication.

I was prescribe toprol in Jan. 2007. Started at 50 mg. felt good for a while. Then I started having panic attacks, blurred vision and noticed that my hair was coming out in large clumps. My drain after a shower looked like three of me had washed their hair instead of just one. My hair now is so thin and brittle I am afraid to even blow it dry. My doctor has gotten me down to 12.5 mg. I want to go off of it completely. How long do you need to be to be on 7 mg till you can completely stop this horror of a drug. I feel so betrayed by my doctor for prescribing this in the first place. I am so scared it isn't even funny.
