Hello, Just thought I would add some pro nuvaring commentary to the chorus of horror stories here. I've been on the nuvaring for about two years now and so far I have no babies (yay!) and no side effects I could confidently link to the ring. Like most women I get headaches (about once a week or so), experience pms, and my sex drive is not what it was in the first few weeks of my relationship but I'm unwilling to ascribe any of these 'side effects' soley to the ring. In particular I find it difficult to believe as some of your postings indicate that the side effects of the ring seem to be worse than the pill- depression, weight gain (in one post 40-50 lbs!), headaches, etc. when the dosage or hormones is lower. So I guess simply put, I am satisfied with the ring and although it's not my place to criticize another woman's choice of birth control, I wouldn't let these posts scare you away from what is, in my experience, the best form of hormonal birth control based on its user-friendliness and lower dosage of hormones.

It is really refreshing to see the things you wrote. I was on the ring for 2 years and loved it. The convenience, light periods, etc. It was great!! However, I felt that some changes stirring up in my 28 year old body (increased moodiness, fatigue, irritablity) were results of being on the Ring too long. I made the switch to a low dose pill and quickly realized, that the Ring was a wonderful creation. After my month of pills is over, I will go back to the ring. My "symptoms" can easily be linked to other things like stress, anemia, etc. It's quick to resort to a prescription but I think, atleast in my case, a trip to my regular Dr. for some blood work and a check up can help to rule some things out for me.

Thanks for your positivity!!

while some may experiance side effects, others do not. if you are one of the lucky who didnt have any side effects, good for you. please dont down play those of us who do experience them. if you look at the insert, you will see a long list of possible side effects, so just because you didnt experience them, doesnt mean they dont exist. I used Nuvaring about 3 yrs ago and didnt have any noticable side effects, went off of it for a little over a year and am now back on it and have had nothing but side effects. there is no right or wrong answer. every BODY is different, the only way to know if youll have the side effects is to actually use it and see!!!!!!!!
