I'm sorry to hear of your condition. Unfortunately I don't think you have a whole lot of options. I would follow the recommendations of our doctor. As bad as prednisone is it seems like it may be the only way to heal your lung.
I don't agree with moslofu's comment. Your immune system has been compromised by cancer, then anti-cancer treatment, and now it is being compromised even further with exogenous corticosteroids (prednisone). Prednisone is not the only choice because in the long run, corticosteroids will make the whole body worse. In spite of the fact that their action can produce dramatic initial improvements in your symptoms, these symptomatic improvements come with a heavy price. There're excellent, professional-strength and quality nutritional supplements that can optimize the immune function (and the whole body after cancer treatment). Be very careful with corticosteroids as their side effects are many and far-reaching.
This registry is a place to share positive or negative side effects of using PredniSONE. If you directly experienced a side effect while using PredniSONE, then we encourage you to enter it here. Please note that entries here are the experiences of individual users, and in no way means that you or anyone else will experience the same side effect, since the same medication affects people in different ways. Please always contact your physician.
