It is so funny to read all of the negativity but nothing positive...

It is so funny to read all of the negativity but nothing positive! I came here looking for side effects and get a bashing about how horrid Yasmin/Yaz is! Let me first start off by listing my side effects that I wanted to know about: breast tenderness change in appetite tiredness red spot in eye Next, let me tell you that I researched BEFORE taking this medicine because 1. I have MS 2. I suffer from migraines and seizures and 3. I take a whole boat load of medications! My doc recommended Yasmin for PMDD coupled with Sarafem to help my mood right before and during my time of the month. I must say that I have only been on it for about 10 days so I do not know anything of how it works with my period. I am APPALLED at the fact that there are few, if any, positive comments about this pill! I know for a FACT that it works because I know 7 people personally that are on it that have NO PROBLEMS! So, I ask you all that have negative comments, what is wrong with you, other than you HATE the pill? What OTHER meds were you on while taking it? I read a few comments about stopping for a month and then starting again and then wondering why they felt like crap?? Well HELLO?! You are effing with your body's hormones! And there is a difference between Yaz and Yasmin hormones. If you had a bad experience with Yaz, make sure you are not confusing it with Yasmin! Yaz is a 24 day hormone pill where Yasmin is only 21 days. I am not a doctor, but like I said, I have done my research. I have suffered with adult acne and PMDD for years. It sucks. If Yasmin helps, I want to know. I don't want to read a bunch of bull about people who mess up their cycles by taking the pill and smoking or taking the pill with meds they shouldn't be taking them with. I know what I can and cannot take. Most of what I take is natural and what is not, well, it CAN be taken with Yasmin. Like the website for Yasmin says and like most of the informational, non-biased websites say, Yasmin and Yaz is not for everyone. Some people cannot handle this type of hormone. I can guarantee you that some doctor or pharm company can tell you that whatever symptom you are having is from something completely unrelated to the BC you are taking. Warnings are clearly marked...read them and obey!

Alwayshappy, are you always out of your mind? I found it so sick that you found other peoples stories about their negative reactions to this pill FUNNY. You must find heart attacks and fatal diseases hysterical. From reading your post I would think you should have signed it alwayshigh. Maybe its the boatload of meds you take. Or maybe its the "natural" stuff you take, I can't decide, but you are totally off center. Do you even wonder, for one moment, why there are substantially more NEGATIVE posts about this medication that POSITIVE? How about because people who experience negative side effects post to let others know of their experience. Who goes online to tell people how wonderful their current medication is and that they are living in the land of unicorns and rainbows since taking it? You yourself came looking for side effect information because you are experiencing NEGATIVE side effects. Unless you consider sore breasts, lethargy and eye hemorrage a positive. Get real. People take action and report when an adverse and "negative" side effect takes place and they naturally want to notify others so that maybe someone who is also currently suffering these effects can make comparisons and decisions about what they put in their body. And, for your information, know it all, I personally was not taking one other prescription medication before I took yaz, nor smoking, and now, 7 months later, I am still suffering the ill effects of taking it. And who gives a crap about what or when you researched or the valuable warnings that you hold so holy. "Read them and Obey"??? Are you for real? What is that, Darth Vadar philosophy? If you think for a minute that the pharmaceutical companies tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about the dope they push on the public, then I have ocean front property to sell you in Utah. And about your "guarantee"about the doctors and pharm companies telling someone that their symptoms are unrelated to this birth control. OF COURSE you can guarantee that. When is the last time you saw a doctor or pharma company anywhere, EVER, admitting guilt about bad drugs when lawsuits and recalls tell a different story. I guarantee you will not see that. And I cannot believe you, of all people, came to a site like this, being of ill health yourself, and brow beat others by making your snarky remarks. You seem to have absolutely no compassion and a total lack of understanding about how most people put a great degree of trust in their doctors, only to be turned on and told they are crazy when a drug prescribed to them messes up their health. And then you with all your self righteousness, come here and do the same by asking others what is wrong with them? As if to insinuate what? That EVERYONE here who posted negative comments brought on their own health problems by smoking, or doing drug cocktails or screwing with their hormones on purpose...or maybe you think everyone is just making it up, or maybe you think that you just know better and everyone else here MUST be crazy. My bet is you don't think at all. And, by the way, I am not anti-drug. They have their place and have helped a lot of people lead better lives, but not all of them and certainly not all the time. But this is one thing I will say... Just keep on taking that pill and pray, I mean GET DOWN ON YOUR KNEES AND PRAY, that you will be one of the lucky ones who can take it without suffering any ill effects. And just keep this in mind... many, many women took it for a looooong time before the negative effects reared their ugly head. And if you, like many others, are unfortunate and you do get sick from taking it, I don't think I would come back here looking for any sympathy.

Be very careful not to combine Serafem which is Prozac with Yasmin. It is a very serious mistake. For your MS and PMDD seek the help of good doctors combined with a good acupuncturist, so that your symptoms may be eased. The combo of Yasmin with Serafem was a nightmare for me too. Yasmin is a very seriously bad drug. I know one friend that has had no problems with it so far and four that have been horribly affected!!!!!!!!! Including me.

There are some people that will not be negatively affected by things. Some people can smoke cigarrettes their whole life and never get anything, yet we know that they are pretty bad for your health. In the same way Yasmin makes many sick and some people not at all. That does not mean it is a good option. Read the literature on this pill from many countries and many places and then come to your own conclusion. The Yaz pill was only a maketing campaign change, because Yasmin was getting a lot of press and thad been pulled in Germany and other countries so they re-invented the same thing to put it back out there.
Best wishes to you!

I've experienced severe breast tenderness and enlargement since taking Yasmin and have stopped taking it as a result.

Wow, Alwayshappy, are you a little unhappy? What a lovely rant. And, I'm so sorry that the pulmonary emboli I suffered after 6 months on Yaz is irritating to you. How difficult it must be for you to have to read about those who had life-threatening experiences with Yaz. I am so, so sorry. You, above all people, are to be pitied.

I know, though I don't smoke, am thin and athletic, have had successful pregnancies, have no predisposition to any clotting and followed my physician's directions while taking Yaz, it is ALL MY FAULT that I developed pulmonary emboli. For shame that I would blame the Heaven-sent drug, Yaz. I apologize for my insensitivity...
