Muscle weakness, pain, tingling After taking levaquin, I still suffer from muscle weakness, pain, and tingling several years later. My doctor who is one of the top specialists in New York has seen what this drug has done to me and is doing research for an article in a medical journal to put the word out of the horrible side effects of this drug as well as increasing the knowledge to hopefully figure out how to counteract this. If you are/have suffered similar results, please contact me at ****** and we can discuss how you can send your case information to my doctor for the study and medical journal article. We need more scientific studies and literature out there about this drug and the side effects.

Hi How long were you on it? I was only on it 3 days at 500mg. and stopped due to sore legs, breathing weird and anxiety. When will it go away??

I was on it 5 days, and unfortunately it never went away. Glad you stopped earlier, hopefully you stopped in time. Not a day goes by that I wish I hadn't taken it earlier or stopped earlier. Problem was I thought the soreness I had was from being sick, not from the medication.

What has your doctor said? I can give you my doctor's e-mail address if you would like to share your case with him for a study. It's amazing how many people suffer such issues and most doctors are not aware of the risks.

I will let you know how my appt. with the specialist goes tomorrow. I have had all of the same problems and then some since mid May! I am really worried about what this doctor will say and whether or not I have any type of long term (drug induced) issues. I was totally healthy before taking this horrible drug. I am 42 but I feel like I am 100 years old. All of my joints ache and the ones in my hands are very swollen in the mornings. I still have sleep issues and my neck and sides are very sore. The headaches are finally subsiding, but I have now noticed more pain in my sides in the areas of my liver and spleen. Both areas look a little bit enlarged. I am hoping that this doctor will do every test possible to rule out all of the things that could cause this. As I stated in my earlier posts, my ANA came back positive with a 1:160 titer. I have had this test before and it was never positive until I took the Levaquin. I wish I had known more about this antibiotic before I took it. I would have been more than happy to look at a possible natural alternative for eliminating the UTI.

I don't know if i should continue my last 4 dodes now.
after first dose at 2pm after doc appt. everything was ok til
night i could'nt get to sleep which is not like me
second dose taken at 8am. Not long after i had body aches
and weaknes like i became a 90yr old and severe calf pain in
both legs. i thought it was from the bronchitis/pnuemonia i'm
being treated for. That evening the pain was everywhere but
more severe in hips, arms and legs. Day 3 took dose at 9:45AM
I noticed my fingers are puffy and achy today along with the other
areas of the body still hurting, also have a headache but that's
usuall for me.

Aspergers 2: Good luck. Let me know if you would like to get our doctors in touch to discuss our cases.

Beth45: I would contact your doctor immediately and stop taking the levaquin.

I was on the drug and suffred dehyration and was hospitalized and then ended up with a torn achilles tendon that I am still in a cast for. My doctor said i was "silly" for thinking Lev. might be responsible.
