I am thinking about going on NuvaRing. But after reading these posts i am very scared to do so. But i really need to get on birth control, i am 17 and i already have a one year old daughter and i don't need any more babies until after high school. I really don't know what to do guys! There are so many more cons than pros with the NR or that is what it sounds like, but maybe the women who use it and have little to no side effects just don't come on this site. Wow I'm so confused! Help!!

Have you considered abstinence? Birth control doesn't protect you from STDs including AIDS. The best thing to do is to practice abstinence and focus your attention on your child.

All birth control can have some sort of side effects depending on your body. what has worked best for me is birth control with a low dosage of progestrin and estrogen. You just have to try and see what works best for you. The pill is the only thing that has not given me side effects. I'm just not a good pill taker. The patch gave me depression. The Nuva Ring has done well for two years except for the recent loss of sex drive. I'm sure you'll find something that works. Good Luck.
