You bet it can be related!! The THREE top side effects of taking statins include memory loss, aches and pains, and peripheral neuropathy! My mother-in-law has ALL three on statins, yet her doctor dismisses them, and she continues to suffer. Statins suck. You need to do research on the internet. There's a former astronaut who had the same thing plus more, and he got off and figured out much better ways to control his high cholesterol. There's also an excellent group on Yahoo Groups called Stopped Our Statins which I highly recommend!

I would encourage you to discontinue your Generic Simvastatin, especially if the Pharmaceutical company is based in India or China, and have your physician prescribe generic Pravastatin, made by Teva Pharmaceutical a company hhome-based in Israel and manufactures this drug in Pennsylvania with good quality control. A 90-day supply is available at Walmart Pharmacy for $10. I would expect you to improve in 7 to 10-days.
