I am so thrilled to find your posting as i was looking for some information regarding why i am losing my hair and just know it is this medication. i too started on topomax in the fall of 2007 and have always been known for my very thick hair...suddenly in the last weeks i have started losing my hair...weird. it is thinning so quickly and frankly is freaking me out. i am only taking 100 mg a day and still exeriencing my headaches...my neuro wants to increase my dosage and yet has not even given me an mri...i too believe my headaches are more cervical spine related and told her i am not comfortable increasing the meds without further diagnosis...i will be anxious to hear what you do next and how it turns out for you. thanks so much for sharing....very few places have any info on hair loss...i am starting with a new neurocenter next week and hope to get more information and perhaps a new treatment plan. what a difficult journey this has been and is...good luck.

I have also had hair loss from Topamax. My doctor ran a thyroid test to make sure that was not the cause. My hair keeps getting thinner and the texture is awful. Like straw. I have stopped taking Topamax because I can't function with all the side effects but my headaches are coming back and the rescue meds alone just don't help that much. I'm not sure what I will end up doing. But, since stopping the topamax I no longer get a hand full of hair every time I wash my hair so I'm hoping over time my hair will go back to normal.
