I am 45 and like you, I was using the Nuvaring to regulate my periods/hormones for my perimenopausal symptoms. I was on it for over 2 years. The first thing my husband noticed back then was the severe hair loss. I kept asking my hairdresser - do you see any bald spots? I thought it was due to my hormonal changes, which the Nuvaring was supposed to HELP!!! I also have experienced extreme moodiness, lack of sex drive and weight gain, which caused me to go off of the ring because I had experienced weight gain with other pills. I had NO IDEA that these were side effects of the ring! I now have been off of the ring for 2 months. I have noticed a decrease in the hair loss and my mood has been better. I will post another time when some more time has gone by to see when I feel it is totally out of my system. My period is now late - but my husband and I figure my strange perimenapausal periods are coming back due to my normal hormone fluctuations. Better than the side effects of the Nuvaring!!! I am going to warn my friends - don't take it!!
