I was taking 500mg three times a day. After 1 week I developed severe joint pain and swelling in my fingers. I got an itchy rash on the bridge of my nose and over my eyes and inside my nose. The joint pain continued to my knees and toes. I have been off of the medication 3 weeks and I am just starting to feel a little normal. a different doctor put me on 800 mg of Ibupropen 3 times a day and after reading up on the side effects of Cephalexin I began taking Benadryl which has helped a lot.

I was on cephalexin for strep throat. About the 6th day in, I got headaches and my arms and legs felt tingly and heavy. I stopped taking it on November 22nd '08. I went to my doctor and they did blood work, which tested me positive for joint inflamation and Connective Tissue Disorder. Connective Tissue Disorder is associated with Scleroderma, Lupus and Arthritis! I now have to wait a month and be retested to see if the counts go down. I am so mad that the drug companies don't post side effects like this! It has been debilitating for me. I have a 19 month old son and some days I am so sore everywhere, I can barely hold him.

after stopping taking the cephalexin is your joint pain gone? Does and how about tingling in fingers and toes? How long did it take to go away?
