(33yr) Was given Omnicef for an ear infection. After 3rd dose broke out with huge patches of red whelps. Stop taking, but then my joints started to ache and I had large knots on the bottom of my feet and hands. Diarrhea and vomiting, severe stomache cramps and low blood pressure... followed by antiphylatic shock. While I was in the ER the discovered I was also having a heart attack. It has been 3 weeks and every time I come off the steroids, the rash and other symtoms return. Has anyone else had similar problems.

I took Omnicef for 4 or 5 days and felt so very sick with stomach ache and extreme weakness, dizziness and a state of confusion. I think my blood pressure plumpeted, but at the time I didn't have the presence of mind to take my blood pressure. I really felt like I was dying. The doctor took me off it and put me on a Z-pack and gave me a corticosteroid shot. The weakness lifted, but I developed a horrible skin rash, kind of acne like, with hundreds of tiny little under the skin bumps all over my face. And my skin went from being very dry to very oily. They never erupt, they are just there under the skin surface and they won't go away. I'm going to go to a dermatologist. It's been three weeks of this and if anything they are getting worse.
