The following info may be useful to you... I have a biomedical research background... I am not one of these loopy herbal people... there is a fair chance that the steroids have modified your GI immune response... this can result in selective malabsorption of nutrients through modification of the GI lining... if this was the case, such a quick manifestation of neurological symptoms might imply you already had deficits to begin with... while many nutritional defecits can lead to neurological issues, you are most likely getting a hit in the B-vitamin range... the test is simple... get a broad spectrum B-vitamin supplement that goes under your tongue... and also one you swallow... as cheap insurance you could also include a multivitamin such as centrum... take these once daily... if you begin to see a reversal of symptoms within one week, there is a fair chance this scenerio is playing out for you... basically the steroid would not be directly causing your problems... it would be an indirect effect of the steroid... however, on the upside... this would be an easy fix... I wish you the best.
Yes, I was too on pred. a higher dose, for a longer period of time, ,maybe two and a half weeks, I had a really bad case of lung infection, of some kind, but I also too, had the muscle spams and hand twizt, along with not being able to sleep at night, then I was later given a sleep aid to help me sleep but that didn't work, I stayed awake all night for almost a month, and now I have gained 35 pounds and can't seem to get it off. What do you think about that !
