I've been on Loestrin 24 for a little over a year. I have noticed especially these last 6 months that I'm extremely emotional to the extent where it is interfering with my life. I was hardly an emotional person before hand and rarely got upset. I get upset over the littlest things, you wouldn't even believe. I have an appointment with my local women's clinic and I'm going to ask to get switched to something else. I cannot live everyday like this anymore, it's driving me nuts.
And as for you I'd wait another month at least and if your symptoms continue, make an appointment and discuss it with your doctor.
I know I'm pretty late in replying to your post! Before I started Loestrin (about a week ago) I was taking Yasmin for about six months. I did much research when I began to experience side effects like yours and learned that while on birth control, it is common to at first experience pregnancy-like symptoms. That includes peeing a little more than usual, feeling nauseous, and so on. After two months of Yasmin, things started to become great! I did gain about three pounds of water weight this summer while actually trying to LOSE weight, so I decided to try something else, which is why I am now on Loestrin. So far so good for me, though. Stick with it, it'll get better after a few months of getting used to it. Now I have no horrible, immediate mood swings and cramps have definitely reduced.
If you still feel uncomfortable with all the changes in your body and stuff, I suggest you talk to your doctor about it and see what can be done about it. If they tell you it's normal, don't worry about it and, like I said, stick with it. It works out in the end.
