I took Levaquin for five days, beginning on June 5th. My doctor gave them to me in the individual "blister packs", not in the box or with any pamphlet. I had/have horrible joint pain in my ankles, knees, and hips. The pain in my hands and wrists is almost gone, but the rest is still there and, in some areas, getting worse. I called the doc. and told them about my problem, they said all the side effects should go away after about 72 hours from the last dose. Has not happened, its been over a month and my left ankle and hip are worse. Does anyone have any advice? I'm ******

My 29 year old son had pneumonia April 6th and ended up in an ER where they gave him an IV push of 750 mg of levaquin folowed by a 5 day pill regimen. By the second day he was no longer able to stand and the excruciating pain in many joints throughout his body required percocet every 2 hours. Joints swelled, red hot, night sweats, horrific nightmares. He is 6'2" and 210 lbs and athletic.and rarely sick. He lost 25 pounds. I happened to go on line and realized by his 3rd dose that he was being poisoned. Doctors we spoke with looked at us like we were crazy and said it was all in his mind. I read up on everything on the internet. He went on a regimen of Vit C, Magneesium (Slo Mag) , potassium, and b complex. The acute pain began to subside after about 3 weeks (in bed because he could barely stand up) Slowly every day became a bit better and toward the end of the 4th week he tried to go back to work. As he is a builder every time he used his arm the pain would come back. This continued for another couple of weeks and then after about 6 weeks totally it just faded and has not returned thank god. THIS WAS AFTER 3 DOSES OF THIS POISON. Drink lots of water, rest and be patient. Glad people are beginning to listen to those who have suffered so. The worst part is not knowing if and when you will get past it. Let me know how you make out. Ken
