Have any females suffered from decreased sexual desire with this med? I have had the cough, weakness, dizziness, sore throat, runny nose, numbness and tingling in my hands, weakness in lifting with my arms, coughing, and catch my breath a lot. I thought it was just "getting used to the med". I am convinced this is a dangerous med, I am off it for good.

i was put on hyrochlorothiazide a month ago because of slow pulse rate i was allready on tenormin for my blood pressure i was on tenormin for eighteen years and they told me to come off it it was slowing my heart rate to slow so i took hydrochlorothiazide allmost the next day i had a constant headache , stomach cramps ,numbness weakness tingling of fingertips i figured it might be just getting used to it so i kept going with it i do think it has also decreased my sexual desire but then so did the tenormin from the month i took it i just thought there was nothing i could do ,there is a lot written about men loosing there sexual desire because of blood pressure meds but you very seldom hear anything about women so i am at least glad to hear i am not alone with this . the doctor who prescribed the hydrochlorothiazide said there were little if any side effects with this drug so it makes you kind of hesititant to even bring it up with doctors because sometimes they make you think it s all in your mind .so two days ago i stopped takeing hydrochlorothiazide and i instantly started feeling better no headaches or cramps i am a bit scared i have to admit i have been on some sort or medication for my blood pressure for the last eighteen years so i intend going to my doctor in a couple of days to see what i can do i am considering using nothing and maybe just taking a chance with the high blood pressure as they say sometimes the cure is worse than the disease. lorraine
