i dont know the ages of all of the women who have to take something for their heavy periods and terrible pain but i suffered for years and finally my doctor suggestion taking out my uterus and i wasnt ready for that. a year later i went back and they had NOVA SURE, it is a uterine ablasion that basically is out patient. they put you out and insert a waffle iron type device to match your uterus and sere it on the outside and you still have all your female parts, no hormones to take because all they have done is stopped the bleeding. unfortunately it is unsafe to have a child afterwards because it does decrease the strength of the uterus. i have gone 3 years with no pain and no period and no side effects and i was 44 when i had it done and was actually on my period til i woke up. i left within 2 hours and had little or no cramping. if not now keep in mind for later that we dont have to suffer for ever! they started using it for women that had endrometriosis and would grow uterine skin everywhere and sere it so they wouldnt bleed in those areas. they said i might have to have it done again because i was considered young for the procedure but hasn't happened and i would do it in a flash.

Hi thanks for your post! I have actually read a little about the Nova Sure procedure. I'm 21 do you think they would do it? Did it hurt you???
