It IS related to the drug. Do NOT listen to your doctor..if I were you, I'd stop the medication right away. You have been floxed by a fluoroquinolone. The same exact thing happened between my doctor and me. Unfortunately, I listened to my doctor and continued with the medication. I wish I could go back in time and do things differently. Seven months later, I am just starting to feel better. For more information, visit the following websites: fluoroquinolones.org, antibiotics.org, medicationsense.org, fqresearch.org, fqvictims.org. Also, please file a medwatch report with the fda. Visit their website to do this. Best of luck to you.
Thank you so much for the information. I did discontinue the medication on my own, hopefully, I read somewhere symptoms should go away in 72 hours. That is my goal and what I am praying for.
I appreciate everyone's postings, it has helped me than you know. I felt like a Psychiatric patient by the time I left his office abd cried most of the way home. I am so thankful everyone has been generous enough to share their experiences here.
I don't want to worry you unnecessarily but you should understand the possibility that recovery from these drugs is often measured in years... not hours or days.

I have taken Levaquin over a year ago, had strange muscle and joint aches and felt miserable. Had flu like symptons that would not go away and the doctor gave me Levaquin again. After that my tongue burned, turned white and my throat and esophagus burn. I am scheduled for a upper GI this week. Has anything made your throat and tongue better?
