Yes. The anti-adrogenic effects of Yasmin suppress testosterone. Testosterone is what is responsible for sexual libido.
Also, the low dose or hormones can create the melasma. Change in hormones is usually what causes this (why we see pregnant women) with it.
Hi thank you for your posting! I've been on Yasmin for about 3.5 years and i have no sex drive... i have to force myself to try and get in the mood. Im 21 and perfectly healthy and have been stressing out about the fact that i never want to sleep with my long term boyfriend! I AM going to the doctor to change my pill! I hope this helps me out.
Do you have any reccamendations of pills that i could ask my doctor about?
thank you!
I've been on yaz for a couple years, it was the only birthcontrol pill that didn't cause me massive headaches. I liked everything about it with the acception of zero sex drive. My poor husband is so sexy and hot and in shape and here I am suppose to be in my peak and he can't get any. LOL Anyway like you I stopped taking yaz one month ago and within the first month we had more sex than we did all year! I'm so upset that this wasn't mentioned anywhere as a side effect, I just thought I wasn't in the mood. I also now notice brown spots after I got some sun this summer that appeared out of no where, I think they need to mention these side effects so women don't think they are going crazy. I admit I like the short light periods and I didn't have any PMS sypmtoms as much as I do with the Yaz but the sex is so much better without it, it's worth it to feel like a crazy women for a couple days during my period. Thanks for sharing!
