I started to feel better before I even got back to my car the day I had mine removed. I had been having horrible dizziness, extreme fatigue, serious memory problems, headaches, bloating...you name it. And I only had the thing 5 months! Had it removed in Feb and I can say that I am 90% back to normal. A very occasional brief bout of dizziness and that is about it. Glad to be sleeping again and glad to be rid of those monster zits. Good luck to you. I would get it out as soon as possible, you have suffered enough!!
Get it out!! I had mine alot longer than most of these ladies but because I didn't know better I keep beliving i wasn't doing something right.. eating sleeping or exercise.. Man was I wrong when I got it out it was instant that I noticed a difference.. I didn't mind the no period but the 60 pounds i gained wasn't worth it... I'm now down 30 pds.. can't say all is feeling of 100% but I'll take 95% over the Living Hell that IUD was.
1williams9922 you hit the nail on the head. I've had this thing in for 3 years and always chocked my issues up to body changes or circumstances. The pounds are whats killing me but I realized I was having issues with the Mirena from the cyst so when I checked some posted and felt like I had written all of them. It was then that I realized my issues were bigger than I had thought and I have been treating side effects this whole time. I've got to print these postings for my husband. Wow, I feel like I just found the key to heaven!!!
I've had my mirena out for about 8 1/2 weeks now. WOW! what a difference. I also suffered from ovarian cysts bursting. (worse then child birth i think), weight gain, anxiety, depression and extreme joint pain ( i no longer could carry a laundry basket upstairs from the basement).
I am 43 years old and doctors were convinced that I was going through memopause. Well guess what, EVERY symptom is gone! I am running up and down the stairs now. I am back to loving my husband and kids like I am supposed too and I have not had ONE hot flash or any other symptom of memopause since removal.
After removal I did experience 2 weeks worth of spotting and I recently had my tubes tied and a uterine ablation (to control the bleeding). I feel like a new woman!
by the way, my husband felt it was worth using condems until my surgery just to have his happy wife back.
Best wishes,
Kathi
I am 26. Just had a baby girl in July so I had an IUD insertion in on August 29, 2008 since I am breastfeeding. However, I have been having dizzy episodes every 5 or 10 minutes all day long every day for 2 months straight. Also, I have been experiencing extreme joint pain. The doctor prescribed me a medro dose pack and motrin and it didn't even help. I had no idea that the joint and dizziness could be related to the mirena. I think I am going to go the doctor and see about having it removed,
