I hope your removal is as painless as mine was. I literally felt better before I even got to my car...it was amazing! I only had it 5 months so did not experience the "crash" that many have mentioned. Didn't even have a period, as a matter of fact, just 2 days of spotting 2 days afterwards....started having hot flashes the next month and have now been declared post-menopausal at the age of 43. I hope that you will feel better....I'm sure you will!
I am 48 and I am on my second Mirena, the first was fitted in hospital after treatment on my womb. I had no problems and told every one how great it was. The five yers was up and I had it removed and a second fitted at the doctors - that was 2 years ago and I have have had all kinds of problems and been to the doctors more than ever before and had scans blood tests and it is only know reading tis web site that I don't feel that i am going mad!!!!!! I am always tired and have a belly that looks like I am ready to give birth and I am in contsnat paiin in my pelvis area 24/7. I have been give antibiotics anti imflamitries and sleeping pills all with no result. After reading this page I will make an appointmet at my doctors to ask for the Mirena to be removed.
