Dreams so vivid and realistic that at times I have had trouble distinguishing reality from dream state and have had episodes in which I would rapidly transition from the dream state to a paralyzed state of being awake

Eroy I also experienced the vivid dreaming I have been on Effexor for 6 months it basically amplified my existing condition I at times need to wake up yelling or crying to get out of these dreams now where as before I could just wake up.As for the paralyzed state of being awake I had those experiences long before taking Effexor. I have a theory that the medication is able to control my depression while I'm awake however once in REM all those unresolved issues manifest in my dreams which I have refered to as crazy sometimes.. I hope this helps you I'm sorry that you are going thru this but just so you know you are not alone
