Hello, I can emapathize with what you and your husband are going through with Geodon. I took Geodon for about 4 months and had anxiety, depression accompanied by apathy and not really wanting to speak much. During the evenings I became irritable and I've gotten dizzy by simply moving my eyes or head back and forth. I have been off this drug for 1 week and can feel some of the anxiety going away. I also feel a little less irritable in the evenings. Since then I have suffered from extreme insomnia and am trying to find a solution to that problem. Geodon has no withdrawal symptoms...you can suddenly quit the drug without any problems. As I mentioned, the only problem I noticed when quiting this drug is the insomnia. Everyone is different and react to the medications differently. Anyways good luck if your husban does come off of Geodon.
Hi Rainy,
For all intensive purposes, it sounds like your husband may in fact be bipolar. Please bring this to the attention of your psychiatrist or get a second opinion, it's often undiagnosed. Perhaps he may benefit from a combination mood stabilizer and anti-psychotic. Best of luck. Feel free to right back but take care of your dear hubby and get him on the right medication. Depakaote and risperdal sounds like a more reasonable combination.
