I had my Mirena put in 2 days ago and I had such severe cramping I almost went to the ER. I feel sick to my stomach and and have shaking hands. I had sex 1 day after having it put in and surprisingly it made my cramps go away, however after a few hours they are back and worse. I found this blog and am seriously considering having it removed already. Does anyone else think I should have it removed?

I am surprised that you had sex so soon....my Dr told me to wait a week...I did and the first time left me feeling a LOT of pressure in my lower abdomen, which was something new for me. I had a lot of problems with mine and had it removed after 5 months. The nausea I also had but the shaking hands things I've never heard of. Do you have a fever or chills? Cramping so soon after insertion is not abnormal. I think you should call you Dr tomorrow to see what he/she says about how you are feeling. Just don't let it go too long if you feel bad.
