I take Lisinopril too and I get dizzy just about everyday,my legs seem weak,I get headaches,I'm tired just about all the time,I was wondering if you have any of these side effects as well?
Gladys
yes i do get dizzy, especially in the middle of the night getting up to go to the bathroom, i almost fall down from dizziness and during the day i become off balance and have to catch myself,. one of the side effects everyone complains of that i haven't really noticed are the headaches. i rarely ever have one. being tired all the time is my most difficult one because i have 3 active grand kids and i want to feel good enough to play with them, and clean house and would be happy to just feel average.. i'm not positive that all my side effects are due to the bp meds i'm on but i do remember begining to feel pretty lousy about the same time i started those meds. i half dosed last night and will again tonight. i'm not sure how long it will take to notice a difference...for the first time in my life i rode my stationary bike for a few minutes. exercise is good for high bp...maybe i'll be forced to take a healthy approach.
HI, Im Tammy from Ky.
I am on 10mg of the Lisinopril, I have this cough that comes out of nowhere and it gets so bad that it wakes me up in the middle of the night.. I sleep with Ludens in my mouth to keep it moist. It gets so bad that I to end up tossing my supper or cookies.. I lose my breath and fight to get it.. I was wondering if that was a result fro mthe medicine or can I be getting asthma in my later in life.. I will be 50 in Dec.
Thanks, Tammy
tammy..hi, the cough you have sounds similar to mine...my family was worried about the cough and so was i till i saw where a cough was another side effect. i too would cough and cough till i gagged and eventually ran for a trash can or grabbed a bag to go in. it was really annoying. for some reason that side effect seemed to finally leave after a long time. i'm not a doctor but if you still have a cough that bad, i'd get checked out to see if it really is the lisinopril or maybe you did develop asthma later in your life. it would be worth checking out. in the meantime don't suck a ludens down your throat during the night..haha. i've been on 20 mg of lisinopril and have cut it in half for several days now...i think i might feel a subtle change in my energy level, or it's wishful thinking. thanks.. and good luck .caffy
I was on 5 mg lisinopril for 3 months and had the cough, pains in my joints and muscles, so bad that I don't want to move...I have never hade any problems like this before...after reading that others too have had these reactions I went off the meds and the cough went away, but the pains continue, maybe not quite as bad but still very sore. Understand from the meds are only suppose to stay in your system for 7 days....but I am still in pain.
hi.... are you saying that your cough and pain didn't start until you began lisinopril?? it's hard to believe that it effects people like that. i know it did me. i'm sure that your going off the bp meds is not a good idea without telling the doc, but maybe he/she could prescribe you something different that wouldn't disagree with you. i suppose having a stroke or heart attack from quitting your meds would be a lot worse than just feeling crappy all the time...or would it?? ha ha ...sorry... not a joking matter.... it's just that my quality of life on them has seemed so blaah. i've tapered off but i've been checking my bp every other day .i hope you do too and also tell the doctor about your complaints. 5 mg's seems mild...maybe you're extra sensitive to them. if your doc puts you on another type of bp medicine, and it doesn't make you want to sleep sleep sleep...let me know what it is...ok? thanks..............caffy
