Hello! I agree wholeheartedly! While I was very happy to hear of the Black Box warning I couldn't help but feel angry that they were downplaying the severity of the numbers of people affected by this poison and only focusing on tendon rupture and tedonitis. Plus, they didn't address that you should NOT take NSAIDs with this class of anitbiotics as it worsens the effects, as I unfortunately was told to do by my doc. I too was a healthy 40 yr old when I took 750mg Levaquin for 6 days in 2006 for a sever case of bronchitis. I was given absolutely NO INFORMATION on this drug. I also consider myslef one of the lucky ones to only have suffered pain in each and every joint and tendon in my body every day to date...while so many others have had terribly frightening effects. I also have permanent documented nerve damage in my R Achilles tendon area resulting in nueropathic pain...searing stinging pain like someone swiped a knife across the back of my heel that occurs at the weirdest times for no apprent reason, but no rupture thankfully...guess 3 months in the ortho boot saved it! I have daily pain in my L achilles tendon as well and am scared that either one could go at anytime...I hobble through my work day like a 90 yr old, and no one, not the dozen doctors I have seen can tell me if I will ever get better. People don't understand because "you look just fine" but ask my family that sees me in the morning and on the weekends just trying to accomplish normal things. I finally saw one of those ads on TV the other day by some laywers telling you to call them if you have been harmed by this drug...guess that means it's real now huh? Guess that means we aren't a bunch of whining crazy people if someone wants to try and make money off us!
