Few days ago I posted how awful I felt ....an extreme tiredness and generally feeling rotton!Had a good cry too!Well today I have my period well brown smelly(sorry Girls)discharge.Im presuming its my period ...I don't really know as I get spotting on and off and don't make note of the dates.Im thinking its only been 3 weeks since my last though!!!Im in good form now although still feel bloated.Im presuming it was pmt I had?????? Ive never suffered with that before ,even when on the pill for 8 years. I was 100% getting it removed earlier this week but now Im thinking Ill keep a diary and after a couple of months decide..... Although...gut instinct ....get it out!! Now Im thinking why has this discharge got an odour....I don't have symptoms of thrush...and I have only one sexual partner,my husband!Gee....im still confused...yes confusion might be another side effect....Oh NO!!!!

I had the same thing, brownish periods and odor on and off even when I wasn't spotting, which was something totally new to me. It was really gross to be honest. Like you, I have one partner. I knew it wasn't anything to be concerned with in terms of an STD....there was no itching, burning as I've heard you frequently experience with that....but the odor was not pleasant. And for me, brain fog was a definite side effect! So was fatigue. Listen to your body and make decisions based on that. Many of us here have had a lot of awful side effects....although some do great with Mirena! Just don't be afraid to tell your Dr about it and make sure that he/she takes those concerns seriously.

Hi from what I've been reading online about the Mirena it cause you to get alot bacterial Infections-BV maybe you need to call your doc so she can prescribe you some medication if that's the case.

Thanks guys...Thinkin back over the past four years that Ive had the mirena odour has been a prob on and off.about 2 years ago i went to the doc because it was very bad and wasnt going away. She gave me an antibiotic or tabs of some sort and cant remember what she said exactly but something like... sometimes women get little infections in our vaginas and it creates a fishy smell.Took the tabs it cleared up.
She never said it was mirena related though.............??

If you doubt it is because of Mirena, Take it out and see if things improve.
Why take a chance with your body.
I was confused and lazy abt removing it too( see my previous post) . I got it out yesterday and am so glad I dragged my self to do it. I already ffel energetic and am sure my mood swings is going to get better.
