I been on Synthroid now for 10 years. Almost right after I start...

i just started synthroid and get a headache almost immediately after taking it. YOU are not crazy and find a doctor that has some respect, listens and cares. Doctors cease to amaze me when it comes to their lack of really listening and talking to patients. People know their bodies and what is going on.

I have recently started on Synthroid 0.1mg since having radioactive iodine ablation back in June of this year. Two to three days after beginning on the Synthroid I started having severe migraines with aura. They persisted for about a month and a half until before I called my endocrinologist who insisted they were not associated with my now hypothyroidism or the drug. I know my body so I went back to the internal medicine doctor who first discovered my hyperthyroidism back in April. He said that he would write me for the dye-free formula (the 0.05mg) to see if the dye in the Synthroid could be causing my migraines - as he has seen before. So far so good. I switched the medicine last week and since that change I have not had a migraine like I had dealt with daily for the past month and a half. I am to have an MRI on Thursday, just in case but feel that I have gotten to the root of the problem. It is very frustrating when you know what the experts are telling you can't be right.
