Inserted 2-25-08 Insertion uncomfortable but would do it again for 5 years of birth control with little to no period and not having to worry about taking the pill or paying $50 and up a month for it. Now the down side: am losing my hair little by little and my blood pressure is sky high. Two years ago my pressures were perfect through my whole pregnancy and now as high as 140/90. Have been working out 3 times a week and can't seem to lose the baby belly. After reading these posts am wondering if Mirena is the culprit there too. Called the doctor today to ask to have it removed. Appt. scheduled for mid August. Wish the side effects weren't there because it would be wonderful otherwise.
