Hey! To reply to your big Nuva Ring experience i think you should get off of it immedietely! i've been on the Nuva Ring for the past eight months and everything you just said about yourself has been the opposite effect for me. I've never had pain, my periods have decreased the length of time to only 4-5 days long and i used to have periods a week long, and i've had very little emotional effects from this birth control. Everybody's body is different! The one birth control that made me have crazy mood swings and irritability was Tricyclin, then i switched to Yasmin and i totally recommend yasmin to anyone. Unfortunately i dont live a very routine life so the pill wasnt right for me and i switched to the Nuva Ring which has been good as well. So don't stick with it if you dont think its right, because everything you just said about it does not sound good!! Just thought I'd give you the heads up that the Nuva Ring does work for some people but may not for others... so i'd switch if i were you.
I'm really sorry you have had such a bad time with Nuvaring... I've been on it a little over a year I think and it's been great! I used to suffer from premestrual migraines, depression, discharge and all sorts of bad stuff, until I started on it. It sounds like you're having problems with the estrogen-type chemicals in it, you may need to try something like LoEstrin FE or one that has norethindrone in it... I have a good friend whose body can't take any kind of estrogen, she has the same issues you do... Please don't write the Ring off just because it wasn't good for you, you may have a friend it's perfect for!! Good luck to you!
Sorry to hear that the ring is causing so many problems. I have been on it for a few years and have learned to take it out before sex. It is very uncomfortable. I never had a problem with taking it out for an hour. There are times when it is just downright uncomfortable. I am looking for a new BC with lower estrogen, thought about Mirena but read too many horror stories. I am leaning toward Loestrin.
