I actually had surgery in March of 08 to have the Mirena IUD removed. It perforated through my uterus and my doctor found it wrapped up in my fallopian tube. My doctor said it is rare to have a perforation happen, but it does happen. If I remember right, the makers of Mirena say that the perforation often is caused by improper insertion. I reported my case to the FDA and to Bayer Pharmaceuticals...they make Mirena so that it was on file.

I am so sorry this happened to you. You haven't had t long which is good news. This happened to me. I had an xray and it showed the mirena was sideways. I am having a simple surgery to have it removed on 8/6. I am so sorry. Good luck to you.
