I feel the say as you. I just want to stop taking this medication. I don't like it and from the first time I started, the room began to spin. I was taking 30mg. I went back to my doctor and asked that he lower the dosage. He then lowered it to 20mg. I've been on this medication now for almost a year. I was wondering if there was some website where you can research the effects of stop taking medications. If you know, please tell me. I truly understand what you are going through.
I just plain stopped. No one should have to feel this way. But if you are concerned, I would cut the tablets in half, taking only half every other day for a week. Then half for two days, a whole one for one day, then half for two days. Then half for three days, a whole one for one day, half for three days, etc., until you are taking only half a day. Monitor your blood pressure the entire time. See how you are doing. If it is still in control, try going to half a tablet for an entire week. Try that for a few weeks, monitoring your blood pressure. Many times we are given dosages that are unnecessarily high. I was just plain allergic to it, from the first day. I took it for 10 days. It still hasn't totally left my system 2 weeks later.
I stopped the medication on Tuesday night an today is Friday. I feel better but I still have those awful burning arm and leg muscles. My right shoulder also is gone. The palpitations are decreasing and I still have the pressure in my face.
I have suffered for five years on this drug and I never put 2 and 2 together. I attribute all my fatigue and problems to being overweight and lack of exercise.
Thanks for your response. I have a five year old and I thought I was actually dying.
