I was put on Prednisone for my COPD. Right after starting a 30 day script (I don't remember the dosage) I started experiencing SEVERE muscle cramps. Legs, feet, hands, abdomen, ribs, back. It was the most terrible experience I have ever had and I refuse to take it again. I also gained 30 lbs in 30 days. Which I have had extreme difficulty taking back off. I am now, two years later, experiencing great difficulty with my knees. I believe that I will always suffer the side effects of this, yet another, wonder drug. The wonder is how many people's lives is it ruining...

Hi prednisolone has certainly ruin my life. I was diagnose with UC and was hospitalised in March. Whilst there I was given intravenous steroids and immediately my ankles and face swell, had night sweat and was generally feeling weird. When I was discharged I continued to take it in tablet form starting with 40mg and tapered off to 5mg for 2 months. During this period the side effects worsened particularly my mental health. At night I was sweating , had difficulty sleeping and had an out of this world feeling. I felt like someone was taking over my life and I didn't care what I did as I was invincible. Now am suffering the consequences of my actions due to the steroids. Hope I never have to take this drug again...
