I had the same issue, and some minor sleeping problems. My doctor suggested I take it around 7pm. Effexor's hits its highest point 4 hours after taking it, for me it felt like about 3 hours when I would get really sleepy. Now that I take it in the evening, I sleep better and have more energy during the day. I would still check with your doctor though :) ~
I have taken Effexor for ten years and always before bedtime as it does make a person tired. In the morning I wake up at 5:30 ready to start the day.
It is a good med. Take care
I too suffer from extreme tiredness where I can do nothing but go to bed. I take effexor 75 mg 2 x's a day, 8 a.m. & 7 p.m. but I am on so many meds there are more than one that makes me tired but Dr. suggested taking one in the pm of the ones that may be causing drowsyness. I take predisone & have been diagnosed with PMR about 5 mo. ago, that disease it's self will cause the tiredness. Anyway, give it a try, Sue
