I've been taking levoxyl for 8 years now with mostly good success. My endo doctor recently upped my dose due to lab results (I think the test results were bad). Now I feel horrible. Headache, dizzy/lightheaded, blood pressure increased, tightness in throat, and muscle cramping. I've been to many specialists concerning the dizziness - everyone says I'm OK; cardiologist, ENT, and neurologist. The symptoms started a few weeks after the dose increase, and have worsened in the last week or two (about 2.5 months out).

I also have recently had my dosage of Levoxyl increased - I have been taking it for about 10 years now with absolutely now problems until now. I went from .125 to .150 and have been experiencing racing heart, clammy and short of breath. My Dr sent me to cardiologist because there is major heart disease in my family and I had a stress test and all was normal. As I am typing this I feel like my heart is going to jump out of my chest and I decided to look up if this is a side effect of Levoxyl. Doctor tells me my levels are good now with the new dosage but what is the best, the symptoms from the increased dosage of levels being off?

How have you been lately and what did they do? I started on levothyroxin at 100mcgs after my thyroid was killed by the radioactive iodine treatment. It made me shake and also had difficulty breathing. They lowered it to 88mcgs, and then 75mcgs. At that point they changed me to levoxyl 50mcgs, but I have major issues with my bloodpressure, heart palpitations, internal nervousness and dizziness. I too have had all kinds of tests and all come out okay, but they can't seem to pin these other symptoms down. Hoping you could tell me what been happening with your meds.

Glad to hear a reply. I'm still having strange feeling in my hands (like they were slapped with a 2x4 piece of wood, muscle weakness, cloudy head, eyes hurt, dry ears and sinus. My forehead always feels warm (to my touch) but I don't think I have a fever. My dizziness is better since I'm down to 125 mcgs from 175 in July. My systolic is a bit high (130) and I'm having trouble getting it down to 120. No heart palpatations - least I don't think so. Getting bloodwork in early Jan. If still high or normal my doc may switch me to a Levoxys/Cytomel combo.
